ABOUT ITHRIVE GAMES
The iThrive Games Foundation works to benefit teens at the intersection of game development, education, and mental health. We strive to foster mental wellness and enhance empathy, creative thinking, problem solving, and other social and emotional skills using games. We believe in the power of games and meeting teens – and those who support teens – where they’re at, which is why we leverage games and game design to prepare teens to thrive.
iThrive Games is committed to listening to, learning from, and amplifying diverse perspectives and experiences. In this podcast, we intend to showcase voices that otherwise might not have the opportunity to be heard by handing them the mic – literally. A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE
This show offers a unique perspective about the power and meaning of play and games, through the eyes of the people who create the games and the people who play the games. Beyond Gameplay is approachable, relatable, and interactive.
Using our expertise we…
- Offer a science-backed understanding of games and play, and one that is human-centered.
- Take a multi-disciplinary perspective, integrating psychology, mental health, learning, game design, history, education, and more.
- Explore the human side of games, what resonates with us as we play games that lingers after the game is turned off / after the game ends.
- Talk about current controversies to look closely at the science, and unpack with practical guidance how to navigate and understand and appreciate what games offer us, as human.

The podcast is so good!!! I’ve listened to a lot of new podcasts and first episodes usually feel clunky, awkward at times, and on the whole a bit amateur-ish—this podcast didn’t feel like that at all, and instead was engaging, funny, and insightful.
